TU Graz – Graz University of Technology

TU Graz is an important university in the international research and education network of engineering and science. It is rich in tradition and future oriented in equal measure, with a claim to excellence.

TU Graz is the second largest University of Technology in Austria with about 13000 regular enrolled students, 2000 employees (whereof 1200 scientific staff). It consists of the seven faculties of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Economic Sciences, Electrical and Information Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Geodesy, Technical Chemistry, Chemical and Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering. TU Graz concentrates on the five field of expertise Advanced Materials Science, Human & Biotechnology, Information, Communication & Computing, Mobility & Production, Sustainable Systems.

In this project TU Graz is represented by the Institute of Microwave and Photonic Engineering (IHF – Institut für Hochfrequenztechnik), one of the many institutes at TU Graz, which carry out the research in the above mentioned fields. The IHF research groups deal with RFID technologies, antennas and filters, photonic systems, with microwave and mm-wave technologies, and with radar systems and microwave propagation.

Role

TU Graz is participating as a research partner, providing its expertise in RF technologies (design, modelling and measurement of microwave monolitic integrated circuits and development of RF/mm-wave components and systems).

Key Contribution

TU Graz has a long research tradition in the fields of radio frequencies, including microwave and mm-wave technologies. Key researchers have been involved in many research and industrial projects dealing with RF topics. TU Graz will contribute to the design and simulation of novel RF package integration technologies for GaN power devices and will develop a GaN power amplifier demonstrator for radar and 5G RF frontends.
